In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Accommodation" means a house, camp, apartment, room or abode in which a person resides and includes a hotel, resort, lodge, guest house or camp room or any other place of a similar nature where he spends the night; .
(b) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(c)   “Personal Information” means the following information relating to any individual:-
(1)   His caste, caste, birth, origin, religion, caste or marital status,
(2)   His education or academic degree,
(3) His address, telephone or electronic mail (email) address,
(4) Details of his/her passport, certificate of citizenship, national identity card number, driver's license, voter's identity card or identity card issued by a public body,
(5)   A letter sent by him to someone or received by him mentioning personal information,
(6)   His fingerprints, handwriting, retina, blood group or other biometric information of him,
(7)   his criminal background or details of his convictions for criminal offenses or the payment of fines,
(8) The matter of what, what kind of opinion or opinion was expressed by the person giving professional or expert opinion in any decision-making process.
(d)   “Property” means movable or immovable, physical or immaterial, tangible or intangible property and the term also includes intellectual property.
(e) "public body" means the following bodies:-
(1) Government of Nepal, State Government or local level or government office under Government of Nepal, State Government or local level,
(2)   Courts, other judicial bodies, constitutional bodies or subordinate offices,
(3) Regulatory bodies or offices under them,
(4) Companies, banks, committees or commissions, institutes, authorities, corporations, foundations, boards, centers, councils established by the Nepal government, provincial governments or local levels in accordance with the law, wholly or partially owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal, the provincial government or the local level. and other organized bodies of a similar nature,
(5) Political parties and organizations registered in accordance with prevailing laws,
(6) Universities, colleges, schools, research centers and other similar academic or educational institutions established or operated by the Government of Nepal, the State Government or the local level or fully or partially subsidized by the Government of Nepal, the State Government or the local level,
(7) Institutions running on loans, grants or guarantees from the Government of Nepal, State Government or local level,
(8)   An entity wholly or partly owned or controlled by an entity referred to in subsection (1), (2), (3) or (4),
(9)   Any other organization designated by the Government of Nepal as a public body by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(f)    “Person holding public office” means a person who has been elected, nominated or appointed to any office in a public body.
(g)   "Organized organization" means an organization, company, bank, committee, cooperative association, federation or other organized organization of a similar nature established in accordance with prevailing laws.
